LANDSCAPES FOR TEST, 2008
"Inspired by the Filipino communities who, after a 2008 oil spill, used their own hair to help clean contaminated waters, I work with printed photographs of water bodies, intervening directly on the photographic surface with silicone and minced human hair.
These works are then digitized and enlarged, transforming the hair and silicone particles—which initially mimic pollution—into forms resembling logs or pine needles. This creates a dialogue between micro and macro worlds, confronting viewers with the paradox of human scale: how small we are, yet how profound our impact on the planet."
